???'s a3 swap
Ok here's my questions right now i have M6 have ran the best of 12.8@112 with a 2.20 60'.This was done on regular 17" street tires with 10 bolt stock gears. Now i am still on a 10 bolt stock gear but am thinking of swapping to a TH400 with 2.43 first gear with a Vig 3200.Now will this make the car faster by cutting the 60' or is it going to hurt me what kind of gains have you guys seen

I didnt see any major gains just from the tranny swap alone.. I swapped becuase the 4l60e was junk and couldnt hadle the power i was putting down and wanted something more bullet proof.. When i swapped my 60 ft times went down because i was able to spray out of the hole and launch harder then i could before.. I went with Manuel Valve body so i still control the shift point without a clutch and made tunning the car easier.. Hope that helps a little..

You should see some awsome gains as long as you have a sticky tire. I don't see why you wouldn't see 12.0s or high 11s. Or just get more practice with the 17s and your M6, I am have got down to 1.8 60fts on my 17" nittos with the 10 bolt..

when i swappped from my M6 to the TH350 i went from a best of 12.48@119 to 11.54 @118. Nothing else changed, except i got a new set of DRs. Do it, you will see a huge difference. The other nice part is you dont have to worry about the ten bolt as much.

Well... I'd figure it like this.... you're 60 foot times, providing you have a good sticky tire on and your car hooks will probably go from 2.2 to 1.6 or better... that being said, you've already .6 faster just in the first 60 feet... that will translate into probably about .8 over the course of the 1/4, but you will probably stay the same with mph, or possible lose a little. But, ET wins races, not MPH.
I am doing the swap from a m6/spec 4I setup to a th400 with a 4000 nitrous converter, and a full reverse manual valve body with transbrake... Eastside told me that with a good hook I should knock at least a 1/2 second off with no other changes. Of course, a new motor is going in at the same time, so I won't be able to compare the before and after.. but I'm sure that it do what they say, they have done alot of these swaps over the last year or 2, and every single person has dropped about a 1/2 second off their best time that went from a stick to the A3
