Default Lunati 382 Kit Issue/ATI Damper Question

Anyone have a issue with the Lunati 382 Stoker Kit regarding the supplied KING Rod bearings ? My engine builder said there was not enough side clearance for these and used Clevite rod bearings instead. Also do you think an ATI damper is necessary for a 382 Stoker that will be rev limited at 6500-6600 ?
