Default Poweraid throttle body spacer What do u guyz think???

I have the 80mm TB on my car. I had it with the poweraid 1" spacer (the one from the 99+ chevy trux) but then saw that the inside bore of the spacer was less than 80mm so I thought the spacer was restricting the air flowing into my intake, so I took it off and installed the 1/2 adapter that BBK provides. It may just be me but I felt my car a lil weeker at high RPM's... I'm thinking about reinstalling the 1" would do you guyz think???

99 SS Volant cold air induction, 80mm BBK TB, 1" poweraid TB spacer,HPPIII,HP 160 stat, accel 300+ race wires and Bosch +4 plugs, transgo shift kit w/vette sirvo,3:73 gears, flowmaster exhaust w/cutout, and all free mods...
Spokane Wa. track before transgo shift kit
13.15 @ 108.6 60ft 1.91
Edingburg Tx. track after transgo shift kit
13.20 @ 107.8 60ft 1.83
I had less top end in texas I think it was due to difference in elevation...

I think the 80 mm TB is worthless either way.

Why not dyno them back to back to see what the numbers show?

A throttle body spacer on our cars does nothing. They are intended for TBI cars where the injectors spray through the TB and the intake manifold. They are a complete waist of money.

I've heard that throttle body spacers do indeed do something. The fellas on the truck board claim they emit a very annoying whistle. Probably a good combo would be the woo-woo exhaust to go along with it.

I've done that mod back in 99 on my 98 Z28. The power aid spacer came off my 96 Tahoe. The spacer will up the torque ever so slightly on the LS1 but that damn whisle noise it makes gets really really old!

IMO it's and not worth the money. It's better suited for the truck guys and I sometimes doubt that it really helps at all.

Thax for the responses guyz... Personally I like the whistle and wit the 80mm TB the whistle isn't as loud as when I had the stock TB... I too noticed torque gains... I think it's going back on... Thanx again...

Well one thing is that the opening in your intake is only 75mm, so an 80mm TB doesn't really make sense. Secondly, I believe that most TB spacers are used on cars with metal intakes to reduce heatsoak to the TB. Since Ls1 intakes are plastic, heatsoak isn't an issue.

You will however see 12-15 hp more on a sheetmetal intake with the BBK. This was proven earlier this week in Houston.

So what are u guyz saying? The BBK would work better with Edelbrock's alluminum LS6 intake???
I don't mean to contradict any body but the reason I say this set up helped me is cause I had lost a street race to a 00' WS-6 and after the BBK and the volant from a car clearance behind I past him and gave him a car clearance but I have not tried them both at the track... Maybe it was the volant and the BBK is just hurting me I'll have to check it out... thanx...
