03/04 cobra
hey guys im assuming i'll be running high to low 12's after my 3400 stall is installed. my question is whether i am capable of beating a stock 03/04 cobra in a 1/4 mile? Are there any other mods that i should consider doing after the 3400 stall? my mods are in the sig.

yeah 03-04 cobra's got 390hp 390ftlbs of torque but they are quite heavy and have nothing down low. In car and driver the best those professional drivers could muscle out was a 13.35. You shouldn't have too much trouble hangin with them bone stock. Beating them however is another story. But for the power they have its not that quick of a car!

Cobras run between 12.7 *with a damn good driver* and 13.3. I have seen Cobras not break 13.4 because they are so hard to launch. And to the person that said they are heavy...They aren't that heavy..

12.5 is the best I have ever heard of them running stock (at least from believable sources) but 12.9-13.2 is far more "the norm". If you run low 12's then you'll have no problem with a stock 03/04 Cobra.
The real problem is FINDING a stock 03/04 Cobra Almost every one you'll find will likely have pulley, chip and exhaust. From what I hear they run well into 11's all day long with just the basic bolt-ons.

Sorry dude I was backing you for a sec with the 12.20's but your 16, and I used to make a 400 hp car run like a probe when I was 16! What I am saying is YOUR LYING!!!!

11s all day... my friends 04 had the pulley upgrade , the chip, the H pipe and a throttle body and his best was 12.2 all day ... 11s all day is what they claim but i have yet to see that.

You guys are cracking me up. Seriously most of you guys don't have a clue..
Any half decent driver can get a mid to high 12 from a stock cobra coupe. Whoever said they have no power down low is way off base. Most of the cobras power is in it's MASSIVE tq band. The Cobra is about 3600lbs dry, and is normally under rated from the factory. Bolt-on Cobras are making 480-500 rwhp depending on the setup, and with a ported blower guys are hitting 550 to the tires. This is more than enough to hit 10's much less 11's. Any one that has a friend with a FULL bolt on cobra thats still in the 12's on DR's do them a favor and take the car away from them before they hurt themselves or someone else.
And the final answer to the most important question yes you sir can beat stock cobras with that setup. Might even be able to beat some lightly modded ones from a dig, but whatever you do don't race one with boltons from a roll.
Hope this helps fill in the huge gaps you guys had going on up there.
