Well, it's been a while since the new Mustang GT's came out and I haven't seen any fast ones as of yet. Just wondering if there are any fast ones out there yet to compete with some of these sick LT1/LS1 cars. You would think with all of the parts available for the 4.6 & 5.0 engines that there would be companies making some sick go-fast parts for these but it seems that is not the case.

I have heard that the new 3 valve heads should be on par with the 4 valve heads of the past. So I expect to see some good numbers eventually, and probably with forced induction of course. I wonder how big you can take out the new 4.6, if they changed the block enough to allow for big stroke and bore? i think the last generatioin could only go to like 5.3 from 4.6.
They will get faster, but these cars are all still pretty new, and people gotta pay for'em.

probably a nitrous car.
The main weakness on the 3-valve is the pistons seem to be junk, and aren't very reliable past 450 rwhp under boost. Quite a few guys have grenaded their engines at that point.
With built bottom ends, sure these things could take some boost.

I raced an 05 GT. He smoked them through 3rd, chirped them into 4th, and once we got a clean race he kept up pretty good with the S7000. Didn't get to talk with him, but he's definitely deep into 11s, maybe even 10s.

Where did I mention anything about $100.00 dollars?

The "usual upgrades" are going to cost thousands of dollars on the GT500 which is a mute point when you are comparing it to a car that's in stock form. For the cost to do pulley/snout/intake/exhaust/tune you could have a heads/cam car.

The new GTs are nice cars but performance wise kinda a joke, 14.1@99, thats about as fast as a stock F-body GM built 13 years ago. There were on the right track with the 03/04 Cobras, I would have hoped the new GT to be as fast as a stock LS1, guess thats just to much to ask from a Ford. Over all great car, nice looks, good interior, but they need to step it up on performance
