Wobbling stock crank pulley?
I did a search and found a couple people with similar problems, but never had a resolution posted, so here goes:
Okay, yesterday my serpentine (accessory) belt popped off, broke, whatever. I pulled over and it was gone.
Put the new one back on and ever since the car misses under WOT at about the 4800 rpm range only. If I roll into the throttle it doesn't seem to do it.
I'm concerned cause this is the third belt I've had break on me in ~24000 miles. The most recent one only lasted 5000. When I looked at the crank pulley it appears to wobble back and forth both at idle and at ~2500 rpms.
Anyone got any ideas, or had similar problems?

I checked the bolt...now I don't have a torque wrench rated for 250 lb fts but it was definitely not loose by any stretch of the imagination.... I'm kind of thinking the pulley got damaged when the belt broke.... not sure how that would happen though.

Re: Wobbling stock crank pulley?
Well, swapped out the pulley today and re-torqued a new crank bolt into place. Still having the same problem. Noise still exists as well as the power loss and hesitation/miss at higher RPMs.
I'm gonna check the fuel filter and plugs to see if that may be a portion of it as well....
Anyone have any other suggestions of things to check out? I'm kind of running out of ideas...

I'm in the process of swapping the crank pulley out completely to see if that will fix the problem. Just waiting on a pulley puller and torque wrench to do the job..... We'll see if that works at all. Thanks for the help guys and keep it coming!

I was spinning a lot of rpms and my serpentine belt would come off. I swapped the tensioner and it still did it.
I got a high sided tensioner from ASP and it never did it again.
I was spinning 6600-7000.

My crank pulley started to woble and slip and manifested itself as a drop in voltage, at first I thought it was the battery but after swapping it and alternator and still having low voltage I could not figure out what was up, I left the car running and checked under the hood and noticed my crank pulley was not spinning around but rather was spinning on the crank itself, I'm lucky I got it off before something horrible happened. My bolt was not even finger tight, I removed by hand.
Now you say you swapped pulleys but you still see it wobbling? If so it would make me think that the crank is actually wobbling not the pulley as long as it was installed right. I know it seems hard to believe but if he went through 2 pullies what else could it be if it is still wobbling?
