There are zero advantages to having AIR and EGR, that is why everyone takes them off and tunes them out. Why would there be an advantage? they are only to help control emissions...so I guess if you feel you are heavily contributing to global warming you should leave them on, but if that is the case you should buy a honda, or up the horsepower and ride your bike...

Sorry did that come off sarcastic? I really didnt mean to be a smartass towards you, I just dont really like the fact that they were put on the car in the first place, ya know?

Little off topic but does any one know what changes were made between 00 and 01 engines as to why they took off egr after 00?? does the emissions really raise enough to fail a 00 car without the egr?

Most definitely drivable without that stuff. You can't even tell a difference and it doesn't drive any differently. Only thing is you'll have the SES light on, which scares some people, but isn't a big deal.

So if I delete my EGR, is there a way to make it look like the 01-02 under the hood so I could pass any inspection? or do they have block off's and such too. Would there be a need to clear any codes after and LS6 manifold and egr delete?

It was the cam, but I beleive it has a longer duration than the 98-02 models. That is why those cars, combined with the LS6 intake and better manifiolds will tend to dyno better stock numbers than 98-00 cars.
