Default Edelbrock Drag Race Headers

Anybody using these Edelbrock Camaro headers for 1998-02. Part#6570? Any ground clearance issues? Price?

This is the first I've heard of these...

Where'd you see them at? Are they actually long tube headers, or just shorties?

Speaking of the devil, I was just about to post about these.

According to the description in chevy hi performance its for Camaros with 5.7 LS1's.

They have 1 5/8 primaries stepped up to 1 3/4" and terminate in a 3" merge collector.

Thier long tubes.

"They have 1 5/8 primaries..."

And they call these "race" headers? Might as well keep the stock manifolds.

The dimensions of these headers are actually 1.75" stepping into 1.875" with 3.5" merge collectors. These headers may also address Fenris' question about somebody stepping up to the plate with a new header design with correct tube phasing.

Very interesting....

I like the price, too! Maybe I'll try a pair of these out and see how they work. My Dynatech headers are bent and beat to hell from a few rough landings.

Those headers look awesome for $400! Stepped LT's with merge colloctors for a LOT less than the other comparable headers out there. I'd get those if I didn't already have Hooker LT's

Edelbrock has been making good products for a long time. Don't knock these headers till someone's tried them out for fitment, performance, etc. New products are good for everyone because sometimes they work better than what we've got right now... Hey, 400 dollar headers AND they come with merge collectors? Sounds pretty good to me.

No more than you said that 1 5/8 is the primary tube of choice for a set of "RACE" headers...as these are being referred to. Wouldn't you agree that for "race" headers, 1 3/4 (or larger) would make ALOT more sense? Afterall, the idea with "race" headers IS to make the most power possible, right?

As it turns out, Edelbrock seems to agree that 1 5/8 isn't the best choice for race header primaries.

Slip fit collectors are a definite turn-off. I went through that once already with the dynatechs and four 02s later I finally wised up. They would be a perfect choice for someone like GeorgeC who doesn't even have 02s though.

On pace performance site it says they are 1-3/4", stepped to 1-7/8", 3-1/2" collector, mild steel seems like a good deal for 400 bucks.

They are available from Summit, for under $400, just run the part #. I believe info from their web site says that they are 1.3/4 to 1.7?8. Which makes these worth a try, in my book.
