LS1 Intake Manifold ?
Hey guys, I have the opportunity to buy a stock LS1 intake manifold CHEAP.... Just wanted to know the possibilities I have with it in terms of porting it out, whatever. How much horsepower can I get out of it, max, over a stock intake? Assume that it is going onto a stock 98 LS1 engine. Where can I get the best work done and for how much?
Thanks guys <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: LS1 Intake Manifold ?
I have never heard of anyone successfully porting a stock LS1 intake. There is no easy way to open it up to get inside the runners, and remember, its made of plastic, not metal.
I don't think its worth it. If you want more power, get an LS6 intake, or if you're really hell bent on porting, get the Weiand/Holley intake, which has a removable bottom plate for easy port access to the runners.
