Default having trouble getting there please help!!!

Hey guys, I have a 98 T/A a4 that I have been trying to get into the 12's for a while now. I have been kind of dissapointed with my times . I have tci 3500, 3.73, 160 degree thermostat, mti lid, k&n filter, hooker longtubes, off road y pipe, flowmaster exhaust, msd 8.5 wires, bmr relocation brackets, bmr boxed lca's, and dyno tuned.

My numbers where:
317.1 hp
340.2 tq

my last time at the track I ran my best time.
60' 2.019
1/8 8.537 @82.75
1000' 11.098
1/4 13.253 @105.16

The car is also lowered and on bfg kdw tires. I am planing on raising her back up to stock height in the next couple of days and going back to the track on Wed. and seeing if that might help.

Is this about right for my car, I have heard mixed things? I also want to do one more mod for the summer should I do suspension, cam, nitrous, or any other thoughts, suggestions, and input would be great?

thanks in advance guys,

all you need is traction. with that trap speed and stall converter, a 12 sec timeslip is easily attainable.

your 60' of 2.01 should be down around 1.75 give or take a few hundredths...that is where your elusive 12 sec slip lies...the 60'.

I'd blame the flowmaster. Take it off for a run, and see if you pick any up. My buddy went from 9.01 in the 1/8th to 8.88-8.89 consistantly after removing his.

Sounds like you just need some DR's
I have run 13.36@102 with TCI 3000 and air lid.
So with LT's I've just fitted I would expect to be very low 13's if not high 12's
My 60ft was 1.94 on street tires.

I'll also agree that your 60ft is holding you back from a 12 second run. Our mods are almost identical, besides the 4.10 gear and DR's. Get some DR's and hit the 12's!! Good luck!! My times are in sig.

Your 60' should be down around 1.6-1.8.... but you're trapping a couple mph off... I have 3.42 gears and practically the same mods as you, but mine is an 01. I still ran a 12.98 w/ a 1.99 60' time on CRAPPY sumitomo tires. It could be that your tune might be a little off. How does the car feel when it runs and shifts through gears?

In addition to the 60 ft. time improvement, try improving your time up to the 1/8 mile as well.
