I just got my flowmaster merge and new I pipe in. I got the 3in inlet and 3.5 in outlet merge. The I pipe is 3in. Here come my questions. I prefer to keep the merge the same length and not cut on the outet to shorten it up because when you see this thing its pretty long in person. I can cut the I pipe to length to mate up to the rest of the hooker catback. My question is did those of you that used this cut the merge to shorten it down any? Also can I expend the 3in pipe enough to get a good fit and weld it without it spliting? Any of you with pictures of this merge used will be appreciated. Also this is going on my pacesetter y pipe just for clarification.

Im using the dual 3" in and single 4" out and I didnt cut the outlet. I ran 4" pipe back into a 4" in/out bullet with a turndown.
I would seriopusly consider putting a cutout before you take it down to 3". Like was already mentioned, you can get 3"-3.5" reducers.
Basicly if I had a cat back I would buy a 4' section of 3.5" pipe from Summit for 12 bucks and then put a 3.5" cutout where the rear seat is and put the reducer on the end of the cutout to hook up to your 3" over axle pipe.
