How to set correct gap on spark plug?

Default How to set correct gap on spark plug?

I plan on installing new plugs tomorrow, and just realized, that I'm not sure how to gap them - they all are preset at 0.057-0.0585 (NGK), how do I set the gap to 0.050? - just push on the top electrode?

Get a plug gapping tool, pick the correct setting (you can't possibly screw this up), and gently tap the open end against something until the metal arm on the plug touches the gapping tool. Don't tap too hard or push too much. The metal is soft and will snap off.
