QTP vs. Kooks headers-how much HP?
i was wondering which header(QTP or Kooks) tends to make more horsepower with each ones own ORY and a cutout. I was dead set on QTP but i just got offered a set of Kooks so i am not sure what to do and was wondering how much HP gains can be expected on my LS1 w/ only a lid and a few small mods- i no QTP claims 40HP/TQ possible, what about Kooks?
Thanks wldesyWS6

You'll see very similiar gains with either of them. The only thing QTP has over Kooks is their HVMC headers which might add 5-10hp over the Kooks but those are $$$.
FWIW I gained 20rwhp and 27rwtq with QTPs.

I'm a big fan of Kooks. They also claim 40 hp.
QTP will probably gain more hp over Kooks because of their HVMC. Kooks does also have a velocity spike in their collector though.
You also have to look at fitment and ground clearance and those two reasons are why I like Kooks more.

If your lowered and live in an area where ground clearance is an issue I'd get the Kooks because they mount up just like the factory manifolds, hence the reason some torque arms have a part numbers for kooks and factory and another part number for all the other headers cause they hang down lower.
If ground clearance is NOT an issue, I would choose whatever you found for a better price as both are excellent headers.
