Default LS1 owners: how many miles did your factory alternator last?

My car has 53,000 miles and I still have the factory alternator. I've heard that the factory alternators don't last that long so I'm curious as to how many miles did yours last. What brand/model/amp replacement alternator did you buy? And what year LS1 f-body do you have? Thanks in advance for the info.

47k miles on mine. A lot of differnt things will affect alternators. Hot weather is harder on them and so is salt water so if ya live near the beach. But I work in a shop and the majority 90% of the alternators we replace are done in the summer months.

Pfft - You guys are all pretty lucky!

I lost my factory original alt at 24,620 miles, 3 years 8 months.
I lost the replacement alt 1,700 miles, 40 days later.

The 3rd has been running since for 4,000 miles, 9 months.

Not that I'm counting or anything.

Not tryin to get off the topic here but i just wanted to ask:

Does anyone have a problem with the lights pulsing on start-up? Dimming when u step on the brakes? i can't help but to think that it has something to do with the alternator.

When I had my Camaro, I seemed to drop a few volts when i hit the brakes, but it didn't happen all the time. I had aftermarket speakers, 2 amps and a sub though so that might have been a factor.
