Default morel lifters

has anyone dyno tested morels? I have mine set at .030 preload, an it seems as if I'm getting valve float around 6600 rpm? Thr car peaks just under 6600, then dramtically falls off by about 30hp at 6800 then picks up again. Alos, if I have valve flaot, would my a/f be affected? I'm running comp beehive springs.

From what i was told about the morel's..They're a great quality lifter, but they're heavy, and will carry more weight over the nose, i.e might need to use more spring to control the valve.. Give bret, a call and see what he say's about it..

when Lloyd ported the heads, he installed the springs, or one of his engine builders. He knew what the cam would be when the springs were chosen

twofast4lv, did you play aroubnd with the valves on the dyno to see where they made most power? Are there any disadvantages of running close to zero lash other than a much louder valvetrain?

I did not want to run Zero lash. makes more power for many but I have never been a fan of being on the verge of to much lash with Hydro's. My Valve train is really quiet now. Much better then with the Comp "R"s or OEM style lifters. If it were not for the car shaking and a give away idle you would not know what was about to hit you

BTW the Morels did not really seem to be to much heavier then the Comp "R"s I took out.

I just set mine alittle more than 1/2 turn past 0 lash.
Should I just set them at 1/2 past 0 lash?
Start up will be next couple of days.
