Backfiring after cam & header install???
I recently had a cam & headers installed, with LS1 Edit tuning. 200 miles later, I am getting a lot of backfiring. At WOT, the exhaust backfires repeatedly above 4000 rpm and the engine surges. Even at idle, I will get an occasional loud pop at the tailpipes. Do I need additional tuning or is something else wrong?

Wow, that could cover a lot of territory. Did you upgrade springs w/the cam install? etc, etc. First thing I would do is pull the plugs and have a good look at them.

Re: Backfiring after cam & header install???
Sounds like my car. I found 4 pinholes in my exhaust welds that were not noticable when first welded. After a few hundred miles we had the car back on the lift to add bling bling chrome tips and noticed the burnout pinholes. When we welded them. My exhaust was deeper and the backfires went away. Every now and then when coming from full throttle there is a little pop, but not bit POW! like before and I think its from my cutout seal leaking it was in pretty bad shape so I purchased a mettle gasket to replace the paper one.
I dont know if this will help you but good luck.
