Default Headers for a 402ci LS2 with LS7 style Heads?

Hey guys. I am trying to decide what headers to get for my 402. The 402 has ETP's LS7 heads for the 4.00" bore. I am getting mixed opinions from everyone and I am on the fence, so I need someone to push me off. lol.

I think I narrowed it down to one of these guys ...

- LG Pro Series headers ... $1500 ish.
- Kooks 1 7/8" Headers ... $1300 ish.
- LG Street Series Headers... $1000 ish.

The plan was to go with the headers w/ no cats, into dual QTP electric cutouts, then into the stock cat-back. This way I could open the cutouts for racing, and close them for normal driving. I was tossing around the idea of getting the high-flow cats ($300), but I feel they may be a pretty large restriction ... any opinions on this setup??

I'm leaning heavily towards the LG pro's, but then there are the LG street series, which are almost $500 cheaper ....

Well sure, but then you are saying the LG Streets which have a 2.5" midpipe...too small IMO.

Go with Vette Doctor's 1 7/8, Kook's 1 7/8 or the LG Pro's.

Okay, so cancel out the LG street series, as I had thought. Between the Kooks and LG Pro's .... is bigger better or what?

Stainless Works makes some very good headers. I know Lingenfelter uses them and so do a couple of other shops. They come in 1 3/4 and 1 7/8. I think that they also carry a 3" exhaust for C5's.

Vette doctor American racing brand headers are what I chose and would highly recommend them.

Great price too!

LG PRO's, I belive they have the longest primay length and the merge collector to improve torque. Second choice would be Vette Doctors.
