Will GM offer cash back on LS2 C6s right before the 6.2 liter V8 comes out?
I've heard that GM did this for the LS1 GTO right before the LS2 GTO hit the showroom floors. They offered something like $5,500 cash back and quadrupled the GM Card earnings. One LS1 GTO owner I met bought his GTO during that time and paid around $19,000 for a brand new $32,000 GTO. Do you think GM will do this with the LS2 C6 right before the new 6.2 liter V8 comes out in the C6 body style? Thanks in advance for the info.

Dream on! They can't build enough Vettes for the demand so there's no way you'll see discounts. You should count yourself lucky if you could even find a dealer that would accept a GMS deal.

I believe with the economy in the dumper you'll see C6 Corvettes for 10% off list. Thats about the best you'll see although when the 2002 Z06 released the left over 01's went for a little more than 10% off...
Figure around 40 grand for a low optioned C6 and you'll be doing good..
Might be a few dollars more than your figuring but it really is a question of how many years you'll keep the car...
If you trade in every 3 you'll be hard pressed but figure 5 years and the difference between what you want to pay and what you can buy for ...it makes more sense...
Good luck and its money well spent...
If its too much at this time in your life? Then figure a C6 thats been preowned. Lots of Corvette owners take better care of their cars then themselves...
Just find an owner like that to buy the car from. Lots of C6 guys have orders in for the 07 C6 Z06..and will make some good deals on their preowned C6's..
If they are willing to do an in and out at the dealership the dealers even offer financing for you..(which is where they often make money)
Watch the Z06 and vette forums for guys trying to sell their C6's to buy their new C6 Z06...Contact them via email and offer a price above what the dealer will give them in trade and then suggest an in and out at their dealership for their C6 Z06..
They get a little more than the dealer was offering and still get the benefit of the trade in /tax benefit. The dealer gets the profit of the financing portion and you get a good car at a very fair price.
JMO and good luck

When I was at Kerbecks perusing the used inventory at the end of April, I was talking to a salesman there and he was saying that they were instantly knocking $5K off the MSRP of all C6's at the time. Essentially you could get a loaded Coupe w/DVD Nav and everything for $50K.

I bought mine at invoice minus $2000 rebate about a year ago. Thats around $5000 off at the time. There are quite a few Corvette dealerships that will sell at invoice minus rebate, you just might have to fly or drive out to them.
I got mine at Huffines Chevrolet in Plano, TX. Did all the paperwork over the phone/net and drove 4 hrs and it was ready to drive home.

What's GMS?
GMS is the price employees and associates (suppliers etc.) pay for a GM vehicle. It is roughly invoice less the 3% holdback (Holdback is 3% of sticker less shipping. And, if I remember right, they add something back in, I think 1/4 of 1%, but I forgot what. My dad used to be a Territory General Manager). So, if you buy at invoice, the dealer is still making a minimum of 3%--PLUS, he gets volume incentives depending on how big a dealer he is, the number of GM cars he sells, and other factors/promotions the dealer region has going on, etc. etc.!
I bought my 2005 Corvette Coupe in March of 2005 and paid $43K, which was just a bit over invoice (I think around $350). But, I got the extended GMPP waranty at a fair price--employee price (those things are all profit to the dealer anyway). At the time I didn't hear of any other dealers doing this. In fact, I sent 3 deals to the dealer because of me talking about this.
The best thing you can do is "do your homework"! Talk to others on forums like this! Get online at www.gmbuypower.com and check out what inventory your dealer has. You can pull this information up by dealer. Check several in your area, and have this information with you when you buy. The cars listed on there are the cars in stock and the ones on the way. IF you have this information you can deal on a Corvette. I always say, "I'm dealing on such and such, with a copy of the window sticker with me, and a bogus price written on the thing with a phoney signature under it! That way they know you are shopping around. I always take several of those with me and just happen to look through them, when they come back with an offer! They fall for it every time too.
And, ALWAYS buy a Vette from the Sales manager! This BS of the salemen telling you they get MSRP or $2500 over MSRP is pure crap folks! Heck, the dealers here in KC advertise $4500 to $7500 off Corvette all the time! Naturally, when the car is new, not yet out, they tend to "get the suckers"! DON'T BE SUCKER--DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

you really have to go to a dealership that sells alot of vettes. I've seen $5000-$10,000 of MSRP at some dealers already. I know that bill jacobs chevy in joliet,IL had them for $8000 off sticker. They got rows and rows of vettes!

There is $2000 dealer cash on 2007 Coup and $3000 dealer cash on the 2007 Convertible at this time. Just a FYI for you GMS is the GM employee price and is aproximately $2000 behind invoice. GM Supplier is a completely different price. GM Supplier is aproximately $200-$300 behind invoice. Here is an example. The MSRP on this particular car is $47805. Invoice is $43581.73 and the GMS price is $41502.53 and GM Supplier price is $43363.39. I have 50 new ones in stock if anyone is interested. If I do not have what you want I order new ones every Tuesday and typically get them in 28 days. I can have one drop shipped from the factory to a dealer near you for a "courtesy delivery" if you do not want to take delivery here.
