Default Formula overheated

well my freshly built motor with less then 1200miles got been running hot for awhilei switched thermostats, but was still runing hot, even on the high way when i put my heater fan on and t hen it went alot cooler.. i think its the radiatorbut when its hot after get gas it sound bad whe you try to start it, when it cools down alittle better its been running hot for awhile i thought maybe because of headers, the gauge was almost in the red and we were in stop and go fryway traffic .
how much damage i do?
it still starts, it sound better once it cools down but what now?
how do you know what damab=ge i did?

plus make offer and i'll sell, the way i feel....



20000 miles on built tranny. new rear gears 3.42 richmond, all poly, new ibach springs, bistiens.new tires less then 2000 miles. new amps, new speakers,

all new parts in motor sensor,starter,

did you bleed the air out of the cooling system there are 2 brass screws one on the water neck for the thermstat and one on the heater core line in front of the alt.
