Default Need help choosing wheel and tires for track

I have 18"s on there now and I run the Nitto nt-01 315 on the back. Couldnt hook at all with 2.4 60's. What is the best combo for sticking? I'm just gonna buy wheels and tires for the rear. I read a 15" and a M/T but which MT and what size ? Can I run a 10" wide rim and what tire to go with it? My offset on the 18's is 53 with 18x9.5 and 18x11.
Tire needs to be DOT legal and will be driven to and from the track I think. Cant really haul a spare set in the Camaro.

Ok, I've been reading and searching.
My options are variable but my budget it very limited to almost none existent now.
A. buy a set of 15" x10 wheels and run a MT Street 26X11.50-15LT tread width 9.8 sidewall 12.0
B. buy a used cheap 17x11 pair of what ever I can find cheap and run MT Street 26X11.50-17LT tread width 9.5
sidewall 11.1
C. Buy nothing at all and learn to launch with 30 series tires.

btw, you can haul a spare set or wheels/tires, as well as a jack, and the tools needed to do the swap, in a camaro, i've done it many times. just have to be creative about doing it. it only really gets hard when you get the cage and fuel cell and all that **** into the car...then its a bit tricky.
