change bs on stock width rear?

change bs on stock width rear? i have 15x10" draglites with 7.5" back spacing right now with a 26x11.5" et street tire, but i am switching over to a 28x10.5" et drag slick, and i was wondering if changing the back spacing a little bit would add to clearance, or if that is just not possible with the stock width rear. (wishing i had ordered a narrowed 9" now...)
