Cam & Head gains inquiry
I'm thinking of getting a cam as my next modification. I was looking for some opinions as to what I should go with. I did all the research, but I'm still unclear on a good cam for what I want out of my car. I am looking to get my car above 400rwhp.... 450 if possible. I do not have to worry about emission testing, and it is a weekend car. My current mods are below. If members with similar mods and a cam can list the duration, lift, hp gains, etc I would appreciate it.
Mods
programming, K&N filter, slp lid, SLP MAF, NW 90mm TB, LSX 90mm intake manifold, comp cams push rods, springs, retainers, QTP longtube headers, QTP catted y pipe, QTP electronic cutout, 3 inch cat back flowmaster 3" in 3" out muffler. Strange Built rear end, 3.73 gears. Factory stall (will match to cam). Porting LS1 heads.
I was also wondering if someone could estimate my rwhp, and/or bhp with my current mods.

I think I'm going to go with the TSP's MS4 cam and their CNC'd LS6 heads with all the bolts on with the exception that I have pacesetter LT's and 4.10's(10 bolt)and a six speed. this seems to be the biggest bang for the buck and once I get a good axle (9in 4.10 or 4.30) the car should be a blast to drive. And once I get it all tuned(hp tuners) it should drive decent and hopefully put down the power you where wanting

For a weekend warrior I would look into a larger cam, an aftermarket cast head, and a higher stall. There is a guy on here with a G5X3 and AFR 205s with 450+hp and 400+tq (I can't remember the exact numbers). That's a pretty pricey combo though. For the buck, I would spend the $500 more on the heads and get the Dart 205s with a MS3/4 or TRex cam. You'd probably benefit from a 4000 stall with those cams. If you want more power you can always have the 205s ported down the road.

Thanks everyone!!!!! Thanks for the comment on the video too Bill! You are right about the heads. I read more about them and porting them isnt as good as I thought it would be. I read more about the MS3 and you are right. If I do that with the dart 205's I will have exactly what I want. I already planned on getting a yank converter... but if the driving doesnt feel right Im going to have to convert it to an M6.

The 205s would work great, however, you will probably want to notch the pistons to guarantee PV clearance with a cam the size of the MS3. I'm also not sure how much lift the springs on the assembled Darts can handle, you might want to look into a possible spring upgrade.
I wonder if Dart themselves are ever going to release a CNC version. I'm sure if they did it themselves they would have more luck with them than TSP did.

Everything I did to my car is in the signature. My best estimate on rwhp increase over stock for the Heads, and cam that I use (AFR 205 59 cc G5X3 .600/.610 236*/242* I think) is 110-115 over stock (290 + rwhp). So the rest of the boltons were good for the remaining 70 or so rwhp. The other boltons are U\D pully, Meziere EWP, 78 mm FAST, and LG's pro long tube headers, and BBExhaust Bullitt cat back. This setup is only staying until I have the money to do my Procharged 408. Looking for a lot more HP/TQ Naturally aspirated is nice, but I'd rather be blown. Hope this rambling helped.

Got Dart 205s and a F14 cam that made over 450 rwhp and 423 rwtq with the usually bolt ons. I have room to grow since I have not added the 90/90 yet.

I also want to know how much of a difference it makes when driving. I know some of the bigger cams if not tuned just right can make daily driving difficult

I only have some issues with stop and go over and over. I got caught in 1 hour bumper to bumper and the only issue was me getting irritated because I couldn't get out of first. In all seriousness there is a little hesitation around 1400-1600 rpms. No issues at all from 2000 rpms to 6800 rpms only that damn rev limiter. Hope this helps.
