Default Video of me trying to launch my M6

Ok, Im trying to get my 60 ft times down, The best 60 I have done is a 1.7. I of course missed the shift on that run The car is an almost full weight Formula m6 with the cheatr cam, patriot heads, and 100 shot. Its running 12.3@113 n/a and 11.5@124 with the n20. 60fts are 1.8s and 1.9s usually with an occasional 1.7x. I think the car could be a little faster if I could get the launch right. Suspension is mostly stock. Front sway bar is removed.Tires are ET Streets (bias ply). The car either bogs or spins em. I cant get that magical 1.6 or 1.5 60 ft,

I have UMI adjustable poly/rod end LCAs,Panhard rod, and relo-brackets at home waiting to be installed and Hal shocks front and rear with the 275 lb springs up front on order. (On the advice of Tosto who I think knows a thing or 2 about launching a M6)Hopefully this stuff will get me where I want to be, but I figured I'd throw this vid out of last time at the track in case someone could point out something Im doing wrong. My best launch(1.7x) was against that import, but then I missed a shift.

I think I need the driver mod

Vid is here: http://video.ls1tech.com/video/66509...ba0c0776a1.htm

what tire pressure are you running, you should start out at 15psi and if you spin then lower them.

what are you launching at?

this is how i launch! maybe you could try this.

i rev higher as each light comes down, reving higher until the third light when i rev it up to 5500 and dump it.

I set the tire pressure to 13 PSI. I'm running the tubeless, but with rim screws. Im not sure its a good idea to take them any lower without tubes. Im usually launching between 4200 and 5000 depending on the track prep and how my car is acting that day. 5000 usually spins em way too much though. and 4200 usually bogs it. I might give your way a shot next time, Im willing to try anything at this point I'm thinking the new suspension parts I have on the way are going to help a little too.

Nice runs BTW.

heat those ******* up better and you should hook better. good amount of white smoke should do it.

plant that bitch right at 6k and let it spin for about 5-8 seconds till you see a nice cloud. then they are heated up. your 60's will improve a lot

A few people have said this. I'm definitely going to see if it helps.

I think you need to heat the tires up more than that. thats good for street tires but DR's should be heated real nice for them to hook best

Hey man

You need to put a line lock in the car and heat those tires up alot more.

2nd gear burnout up to 6000rpm and hold it for at least 4-5 seconds after smoke appears. Run 11psi cold in the tires.

You'll drop a TON in the sixty. Launch at ~5000-5500rpm and on the third light floor the gas while lifting straight up off the clutch as fast as you can.

You will **** you pants at the difference it makes

Yeah, Ive been hearing a lot of that, and am looking forward to shitting my pants I'll get one in soon. I just got the LCA's and panhard in today, and started on the rear hal's. Took to long at home depot trying to find some hardware to attach them to my rear so I have to finish them tomorrow. Then maybe I can tackle the front hals and springs next weekend. By then, hopefully I'll have a line lock. Oh yeah and sometime I have to find the time to get my relocation-brackets welded in too. It might be a bit before I make it back to the track, but I'll be trying to get my wheels in the air when I get there I may even put the 150 pills in.
