z06 guys come in

If I remember correctly, my C6 Z does 60 in 1st, 90 in 2nd and 125 in 3rd, give or take a mile an hour. So, 70 in 2nd is possible, but I can guarantee you it'll be squirrelly on stock tires!

if you want to practice downshifting into 2nd at 55-60 and over, make sure you're going in the straight line, AH is on, and there's plenty of space on the both sides
because of weight transfer and sudden jump in power, it is a very good idea to be going nice and straight anytime you downshift and punch it. safety first!

3rd doesn't last that long, if i'm passing someone i'll put it into fourth and just continue till about 120, then let off once i'm safely back in my lane. This is in a Z06. If you just want a kick in the pants, 3rd is fine, lasts till about 95 or so, prob longer in your case.

Ok, just to clarify a few things. You will hit rev limiter at 69mph in 2nd and 100mph in 3rd (assuming MN12 ratios)
If you are upshifting, your HUD will read lower due to the annoying delay between change in speed and visual update on the HUD. For 2->3rd change the HUD will read around 64-65mph and for 3rd->4th around 98mph, if you are running it full throttle.

^^ I agree. The new z06s you should be in 2nd as they have a longer first and their 2nd goes higher too...don't know too much about their tranny's so I'll shut up but for me <60=2nd gear. >60=3rd gear 04Z06
