Weekend racing results: I didn't lose 1st round!
Past weekend I was a better drinker than a racer!
This past weekend was a www.dragraceresults.com race, with a $5000 winner share to electronics cars and $1000 winner check to no-box cars (run a transbrake, 2-step, air/electronic shifter all are okay, just no box).
Saturday I make it past 1st round via a red-light, then lose 2nd round after opponent and I are within a thousandth on the 'tree and I break-out by 2 thousandths taking 3 hundredths of stripe (my 7.328 on a 7.33 dial to his 7.39 on a 7.36 dial). A good buddy of mine won that night, so eats and drinks were good, plus winner's circle pics!
Sunday I win round 1 again by opponent red-light, then I proceed to go -.001 red against the previous night's trophy winner (she was .010 on the bulb, so I didn't feel bad for trying that hard).
Lots of Bud Light and deep-fried chicken wings were consumed and a good time (especially considering I didn't have to buy-back either day).
Hope everyone had a good weekend of racing (especially the dad's)!

Congrats on the no buy backs, beer & wings. Sounds like ya'll had a great time anyway.
Rain got us this past weekend. We are looking forward to running our new LME 347 motor at the National Dragester challenge this weekend at HRP. Oh, did I let the cat out of the bag.

Coach,
Bummer about your luck. I live in Florida, so you know i've experienced my share of lost races to the "weather gods!"
Cat and a bag? Did I miss something?

Congrat Derek for at least making it to the 2nd round. Surely you didn't red light on the beer? I really, (I mean really) missing going to the track for the weekend. Nothing better than racing, drink, eating and drink some more. Soon.. hopefully very soon I be ready to run all weekend.
Coach, are you at it again. You know you should try this turbo stuff. Want to go fast, very fast. Nothing like it so far, not even nitrous.
Hoping for good weather for our next series of shake downs and getting my license this coming Sunday.

Nope, someone should given me something to relax apparently! Was definately a good weekend, even if I didn't make many rounds or the cash. Our pit area was rocking Friday through Sunday, and I'm sure Budweiser was glad to be the product of choice
On the subject of power-adder, trust me that it is hard to not want to try something new. My buddies speed shop recently did up a carb'd blow-through procharger install on a 383 SBC (motor is set-up close to mine on parts, except 1.5 less compression).
N/A - 341 rwhp
on 11 lbs of boost - 525 rwhp
Best track pass N/A on slicks in good air - 11.88 @ 112 mph with a 1.61 60 foot
Best track pass so far w/blower, blown-up posi and drag radials, leaving in 2nd gear of TH400, 2000' DA - 10.78 @ 133 mph with a 1.96 60 foot.
I have the $$ needed to swap right now if I wanted, but bracket racing is too much to overcome.
Good luck with your licensing this weekend!

David,
Yeah, I almost went that route. A '69 Firebird with a 12-point cage is for sale about 50 miles from me. I checked it out, and it need a lot of work, but for $1500 I was tempted. But it would likely mean saying goodbye to either the Nova or the Formula, and I can't do that. I get attached to cars, so I'm weak
I'll just live my heads-up experiences through you. Don't let me down
