Default Cams & Gas Mileage?

This is probably a topic that has been beat to death but I am wondering how much a mild to moderate cam effects your gas mileage?

I am thinking a TR224 or something around 228/228 with the smallest stall that will accomadate them. What kind of reduction in gas mileage would I see ?

Once again, Im sure its been beat to death , sorry

My previous car was an A4 with a TSP 225 cam, stock 3.23 gears, and TCI SSF3500. On a 175 mile trip @ 90 mph I got 23mpg running the A/C, with one passenger, and all our ****.

Seriously??
I have a 402 that is getting about 15-16 around town, just haven't had enough highway time to tell yet.

Cool

Even my small Comp Cam 216/220 hit my mileage on the average of 2-3mpg city and Hwy. I now get 23-25 hwy.

its all in the tuning with these cars. i know guys who have the tr224 cam who get the same fuel economy as they did stock with a good tune. as u may or may not know, cars usually come from the factory runnin a lil rich.

Depending on how much time I do sitting and letting the car idle up to temp it is 13-16 miles to the gallon in the city. on the highway its in the low 20s but i have 4.33 gears.

I average 29-31mpg on the interstate and 23-25mpg around town... mods in sig...

If the tuning is tight you should not notice a large change in mpg from a mid 220s cam...

so a good tune and a mild cam and I should see in the neighborhood of a 2-3 mpg drop? Whats the biggest cam that holds true for? Under 230 I would ASSume? Also does this take into account a higher stall torque converter or not ?

Before I installed these ZEX Nitrous plugs, I still was at over 22 to a gallon. I'll let you know after a couple a tanks of gas on these plugs is working out.
