why only 3.5 prostars in the front?

why only 3.5 prostars in the front? how come every one i see who has prostars has only 3.5 in the front is it because its the only ones that fit?
i might get a set of 15x8 15x__ but i wouldent mind a lil wider then 3.5 in the front.
also im lost on my rim decisions.
should i get a set of prostars and dd and race with them
get some 17X9.5 tt II
use stock rims for racing?
or get some 17X11 TT II in the back
