Default The first night in my z06...

I picked up my 2002 Yellow Z06 yesterday from the older man that sold it to me. I took it hom, took the sheep skin covers off immediatly, and gave her a bath. That night, my little group of friends with GM performance cars got together at our local hang out... Bone Daddy's (dfw people know this place) and had a fun time getting there... but had more fun coming back home, got to run a 240SX... turbo'd pretty quick. But just the sheer enjoyment of feeling the road and having the power and the flashy color was just amazingly fun. Like a celebrity, everyone looks at you (reminds me to get the windows tinted). Just had an absolute blast. It's fun when strangers walk up to you in a resturaunt and say "man thats a badass vette" and "so you just got it today? oh yeah, i over heard your sister talking about, dude thats sweet" Anyway... just thought i'd share my first night's experience wow! Should have got one of these a long time ago! (pics to come)

Took these tonight, after the BSM was taken off.

I'm going with nittos. I would go with the BFG's but the nittos i think will last ALOT longer and get SOME rain traction. This is a daily driver for me, not a weekend cruiser, so I have to have some kind of tire that is "all around" and i think the nitto does that very well.

Congrats on the Z!
As for tires, I'd recommend the Nitto 555 R2's in a 305mm width. They're a nice stiff sidewall street tire with drag radial compound. Treadwear 100.

Sidewalls are stiffer in the RII's. That's the only difference. They're designed for road racing. The R's are a drag radial. I had R's on the Trans Am and it got squirrely in turns so I switched to the RII's where the problem was gone. On a Vette, I'd definitely recommend the RII's.
