Help with CAM Choice
Okay, I know this has been posted 1000 times & I did do a search but I want a direct opinion.. Here is what I am looking for. I daily drive the car (98 T/A, Auto), Put around 10,000 miles a year.( car has 82,000 Miles, Should I upgrade Timing chain, oil pump?) I need a cam that can handle the daily drive & is "easy" on the springs, I don't want to change them every year. I will keep my stock heads. I drag race about once a month. Obviously I want good power I wouldn't mind a good lope but I do have to pass smog in this wonderful state of California. Here are my current mods if you are to lazy to look in the sig
Mac Headers
Mac Y-Pipe & Cats with cutout
3800 Vigilante
3.42 gear
LS6 Intake
Ported Throttle Body
ASP Pulley
I also currently have the 02 LS6 Cam, LS6 Springs, 7.4 Hardened Pushrods. I don't want to make crazy HP & break the stock 10 bolt The way the car sits with these mods it dynoed at 334rwhp(360 Locked) best et of 12.21@110, 1.66 60'(ET Streets & Skinnys). I want 11's Thanks for the input

Sounds like the cheaTR cam might be a good alternative to the ZO6 cam you're currently running.
I just posted this, but there's atleast one car that I know of that made 390 (with manifolds and converters). Might want to look into this cam being you need to pass emmisions. Idle is stock. No one would know you had a cam.
