Intake
I have a 96 lt1 that is being rebuilt at the time. so i have the intake at home right now. i have cleaned it all up so it looks new. So the next step is that i want to paint it red like the lt4 intakes. What paint do i use exactly. i dont know what the color is called. i also need to know where to get this paint.

here is what you want to do if your going to take it out of the car spray it with a degreaser and clean it up, rub it a little bit with some sand paper and get a high temp engine paint from pep boys or autozone or even walmart duplicolor is the best imo then cover up holes and paint i did 3 layers, dont bother covering the fins on the top just re-sand them later i just did mine ill post pics later

or you could always get the intake hot tanked while it's off the car, and clean any carbon built up in it, then have it powdercoated red, and it will look alot better. You can tell the powdercoated to tape off the fins, so they remain silver, then you could polish them, and have a clear powder put on it. It's all in the attention to deail. Some powdercoaters can polish, so check to see if they can do it while it's in house, and just seal it with a clear.
