Default Most power on stock LS2 Block?

What is the most power people have dyno'd to the wheels with the ls2 block? 364 or 402? At what point is it manditory to switch over to the Iron block?

Is 1200whp achievable on the stock ls2 with factory sleeves?

Regards,
Justin

Well, I've found some good links doing a search.

I don't think the actual hp limit has been found yet. We are going to press it with a 94mm turbo. One of the coolest things about the LSX engines is that they are full aluminum. Why give that up if you don't have to. As you see in those threads there are some very fast high hp cars that have chosen to run aluminum and so far it seems to be holding up to anything anyone has thrown at one.

Mike Brown probably has the most power going thru an LS2. He was going to pull it and tell us how the cylinders looked.

New motor should be done sometime in July. The LS2 will be torn down as soon as the new one goes in. So far there are no signs of any problems. Might be turning it up just a tad next week. So far it has gone just a hair under 167mph. Wouldn't mind seeing a 170 out of it.

Let's not forget that you are carrying what, 3800 lbs down the track? Makes it even more impressive.

That's a ****-TON of power to make that sled go that fast for sure...seems like the stock ls1/ls2 aluminum stuff holds up pretty well when put together right. I know mine is holding up just fine so far.

Old LPE stage 2 heads and a LS6 intake with a stock ported tb.

LTLHOMER, Thanks. But it's down to a skinny 3,650+lb race weight now with the TH210 in there.
