I was just wondering if anyone has had any type of experience with the installation of a carbon fiber driveshaft. Pros, cons? what does everyone prefer. The only thing I see is that its 800 bucks. Does anyone have one installed?

I'd just get a Denny's Driveshaft and be done with it.
I bought one and had it install. Also, I have no regrets in buying one because of the rotational weight savings.

I have had one for a year. It was a 2lb weight savings compared to the stock almuimun shaft.

I run a custom built ACPT that I bought through Mark Williams. Sweet piece! This shaft is what they recommend for 8 second cars but is overkill for most. I do like the safety factor as well.

Could you elaborate on the safety issue? I can see it being safer because it it stronger. Is there another reason?

If a steel/aluminum one breaks, on of the broken pieces could shoot right through your floor board and sever body parts. Not cool IMO.

Great mod IMO...I also got it in a GP for $700. I wouldn't have spent $800.

At $800 a pop, I didn't feel very well about my ACPT carbon fiber driveshaft. I thought it would hold up, and it did for over a year, but the thought of it ever breaking and shredding kind of bothered me. If it was a $400 driveshaft, no problem, but shredding an $800 driveshaft and reducing it to scrap is not my idea of a good time.
I sold the driveshaft and got a lifetime warranty Denny's steel "Nitrous Ready" driveshaft. www.dennysdriveshaft.com (http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com)
I doubt I'll ever have to worry about driveshafts ever again. This sucker is BEEFY.

I know this isn't considered a "performance mod", but has anybody noticed the engine revving quicker because of it?

But my dyno #'s show otherwise

Let me clarify that all C/F shafts are not created equally. The one that is in my SS, which is what probably %99 of the people who have a C/F shaft in these cars has, is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY smaller than the one that is in my 9 second car. This custom built driveshaft is FAT!!! The hardware on it is first class 1350 stuff. Practically unbreakable. It is the strongest shaft available that I know of.
