this may be a dumb question but i dont know. i was wondering if a 4l60e outta a C5 vett is the same or can be put in a 98 camaro?

yes it is the same tranny, good for all ls1 cars

Sorry to say guys that the vet case is unique to corvette's only. It has a seal in the rear of the case to seal the output shaft and doesn't use a tail housing. The trans splines directly into the rear differential which has a seal as well. If you take and put this trans into an f-body,truck,etc there wiil not be any lube for the drive shaft slip yoke to tail housing bushing.
