Default Speed Inc.?

I'm getting ready to get a full tune and I think the closest place is Speed Inc. It's about 1 1/2 hours away. My question is, has anyone been there for a tune? Can you tell me if they do a good job on it?

I live in Lafayette, IN. Right down highway 65 from them. Thats why I'm wondering, cause it would be very convenient just to cruise up there and have it done. I've heard from you guys now that they are good, but then I heard from one person that they didn't do a good job at all. Hmm...

If you are only in Lafayette, I can take care of you. I do all my tuning on the street which is where you at 99% of the time when you drive. You can check my trader feedback or the Midwest section, I have done a lot of tunes for the guys around here. Price is $275.

Thanks!

You can tune "on the street" all day long, but make sure you have wideband to go along with it. First hand experience - "I trust Stock O2 sensors like vampire giving me a *******"

My personal tuner (identity not revelaved to protect the innocent) kept increasing the timing, and we kept scannign if there would be a any knock, and there wasn't any detected by hptuners.... so we thought the tune is good and complete. Well, it wasn't until I hit the dyno and noticed that it was knocking like crazy at high rpms. It sounded like someone spilled marbles into my engine.... anyhoo I lost 40 rwhp on that deal, with peak HP at 4100 rpms....LOL

Bottom line - I'm going with a proffesional dyno tune.... the only way to go.
I'm debating between FLP and Speed Inc... both did countless LS1 tunes with good results.

Speed Inc. does great work. I had a basic tune done after a header/stall converter install and I saw .4 tenth drop in my 1/4 mile time (my car wasn't running right at all before the tune). The guy there doing the tuning is very good at what he does. Get your car tuned there and I don't think you'll ever regret it.
