Default 02-04 ls6 cam vs Hot Cam vs medium cam

02 z06 cam: 204/218 117.5 LSA
Hot Cam: 219/228 112 LSA
???? cam: Medium cam

I want something near to one of these. I basically decided to mostly upgrade my valvetrain. I want to use LS6 valvesprings if that gives you any idea of how radical a cam I want to use. I want to make more power but I want a smoother, stronger, and more reliable valvetrain. If that makes sense.

Springs: I am probably gonna just sell the blue ones I have for some of these http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=208&catid=48 I'm not gonna need the .650 lift patriot dual golds or whatever. I don't want to go that big.

Edit: Maybe the Cam Guide needs to be updated. The LS6 valvesprings for yellow are rated at .550 everywhere else. Not .580.

Pushrods: Also. I want to upgrade from the factory pushrods. Any reccomendations for stronger/lighter ones I will most likely be keeping the stock length seeing as how I'm not going big cam.

Lifters. Any suggestions?

Rockers. I'm all ears here too. I am leaning towards some 1.8RR.

I have the valvespring tool on the way as well as an LS2 timing chain. There are a few more tools I need to pick up but the paycheck is running thin. lol

I will also be installing an LS6 intake, UDP, and tr55 spark plugs along with the cam so I should see a pretty decent power increase with whichever you guys help me decide on. I already have lid, ported TB, and LTs w/ ORY and catback. I put down 350/350 with just those. Any estimates after intake, pully, and cam w/ tune?

I would like to thank the cam guide for making me a little less undecisive. Sorry for all the threads if I've made too many. lol

Just get a 224 cam, some chrome moly 7.4 PR's, and some comp 918 springs.. I had one (224 cam) and didnt feel like I lost any low end. Even the cam I have now didnt lose any...but I dont think you want to go that big.

I wouldnt get any 1.8rr's, just a waste of money on a cammed car IMO.

Id just throw in some stock replacement lifters or equivalent, like some comp 850-16's

Youll see around ~390 rwhp dynojet if you go 224. It wont happen with a hot cam or ls6 cam. These will put you in the 365-385 range.

SDPC do a Z220 or something which is a 220/224 0.551 on a 114 which isnt bad. However Id go 224/228 on a 112 if I did it again, also get as much lift as you can.
