Who ground the cam? Have any lobe numbers? What's the duration at .050"? What's the LSA and ICL. Is it the cam in your sig or something else?

fm6 cam from futural
all at .050"

lobe size bc/ht in 1.450 ex 1.450
lobe seperation 112 cam deg
valve overlap 3.7 crank drg

intake
valve open= 5.5 BTDC
centerline = 108 ATDC
vavle close= 40.6 ABDC
duration = 226.2 crank deg
lobe lift = .33827in
vavle lift = .57506
lobe area= 26.75

exhaust
valve open= 52 BBDC
centerline = 116 BTDC
vavle close= -1.9 ATDC
duration = 230.2 crank deg
lobe lift = .34988in
vavle lift = .5548
lobe area= 27.96
thats my cam card from futural

I retatrded the cam 4degrees on my install to +0

so say my cylinder head volume is 61cc
piston head volume is -1(flycut approcimatly .065 on the intake)
gasket thickness is .045
gasket bore is 3.905
cylinder bore is 3.898
deck clearance is .-006
stroke 3.622
I get 11.473 static compression
DCR im way off

Off topic but what's been happening with your car since last summer? Didn't you have AFR 205's?

Quick question as well, why are you retarding the cam when you don't have heads that are going to flow well at higher lift to take advantage of the moved hp? I'm assuming you're running stock heads, or something close since your sig says no heads yet.

Pat, Futral cams have 50* more at .006 than .050". So, your advetised duration is 276*. Take 276/2 + 112(ICL) - 180* = 70* IVC@ .006". After puttin gyour specs into my DCR calculator, I came up with 11.17 SCR and 8.50 DCR.

ArticZ28, advancing or retarding the cam dosen't change valve lift, so what your heads flow at X lift won't be of concern. The cam will still do the same thing and be the same size, it will just do it a few RPM higher or lower. It will however change your overlap in realtion to intake or exaust biast. On a N/A motor, I'd rather be intake biast or +0.

Ran across this post and it reminded me of a call I made to FMS two weeks ago. I just wanted to know advertised intake duration on their 228/230 112 cam. Alan is supposed to call me back, but hasn't yet.

Add 50*. 228+50 = 278* advertised or .006".

I would imagine this is a Cam Motion rule of thumb? I has hoping for CamDoctor numbers instead.

if you have the grind number for the cam, call cam motion and ask them.

It's the way every Futral cam I've seen has been. Kinda like all XE-R cams are +49 or XE's are +53. It's just one of those things.
