well I went out a bit today and did some vette shopping. The first Z06 i test drove was a 02 stock, black on black with 32,226 miles in really damn good shape. they are asking 33,500 for it. took it out for about 20 mins. not alot of cabin noise and felt smooth. on the way back the check engine light poped on, so im kinda worried about that. also had a crack in the windsheld. also when climbing out of the car there was alot of squeeks, rattles, ect.

Now the second one i drove was at a different dealer. This one was a 03 black on black Z06 with 16,116 priced at about 37,800. This one felt like a champ, felt so smooth roaring through those gears, not squeeks at all. They wanted me to buy it, they just kept dropping the price down. Im leaning towards this one ALOT. i did notice the car was really dirty (while the first one looked like it was just detailed) alot of swirls on it. they will be calling me monday to tell me info on the background check they are doin on it. Im gonna get them down around 34,000 or 35,000. I hope. Just wanted to get some input from ya guys on this.

Now i know EXACTLY what you mean when u say "once u test drive it, your bought" god damn, it felt so good driving these cars, both of em. I cant get it off my mind! I was blown away. and i cannot wait to have it for a new car. Im so happy it will be takin place of the camaro.

Do a Carfax report yourself if you havn't already, this way you don't have only what the dealer is telling you, and also check a used car pricing to see what others are selling for(Edmunds).
Are you getting a 90 day or some other short term warranty? or is it a
'as is sale'. good luck.

go for 03 if carfax checks out. that windshield on 02 will cost you a grand to replace

Yeah, take your time. There are plenty of low milage Z06s out there to buy.

no but i did come across some of theirs. do they seem like a good buy? the one I saw was at a place called D&M Motorsports, they nothing but vettes and sports cars.

Like said, don't be in a hurry and get something you don't want.

I liked some of the lower mileage ones, but I found a great '03 with 45K miles and bought it from a guy for $29K. He was meticulous about records and it had tasteful mods. Deals are out there to be had if you do your searching.

geez i talked to a bunch of guys there, all cool. I started to talk alot with George. hes gonna call me up tomorrow with more info. If things go well with it ill probably pick it up this commin week.
