You need to get the car tuned, and handhelds are a waste of money. Just find someone in your area that knows what they are doing and get them to tune it .

I have this same issue and i HAD my car tuned by one of the POS sponsors who really didn't know what they were doing, but tried to tune my car anyway ...

I just got HP Tuners, what would be the best way to lean out the car?

To lean out at wot, there are 3 ways, Ve table, Maf table, or pe vs rpm.

Using HP Tuners I increased the Maf table by about 6% across the board and richened up my a/f. To lean it out I would lower the maf table about 5% and then check your a/f. I've had better luck with that rather than adjusting the Ve table. But I should stress, I'm still in the noob stages of tuning.
