Default Engine clunking.

ok, my dad took the ss to best buy and on the way bacl developed a clunking. im REALLy hoping it didnt drop a valve. i dont think it ate a piston because it wasnt a smoke show so what do you think? also i disconnected the coils and cranked it over, there def is a dead cylinder but wht could it be?

Its hard to tell...is it a clunking or more of a rattle? Your best bet would be to pull both valve covers and look for anything obvious. The fact that it isnt smoking seems like it would be top end problems. You should know whats up by pulling the pushrods, if not, check all of your spark plugs and that should give you your answer.

******* christ i found it... the hold down for the rocker backed itself off, this is AFTER i tightened down the jamn nut. luckily nothing is lost or terribly fucked up. son of a bitch. IF ANYONE WHO READS THIS HAS CRANES CHECK UR ROCKERS OUT. im gonna check the pr make sure its not fucked.

PS- the rocker isnt messed up much at all but i think getting a single rocker would be a good idea...
