Default Will 3.23 gears help?

I have a 98 LS1 camaro. I have a deck lid and a flowmaster( soon to be replaced by Hooker exhaust). I Have 2,73 gears and I have run a best of 13.41. I average 13.6. Will installing 3.23 gears help? If so, how much? I have an A4. I may be able to get 3.42's. I have gone well over155mph with 2,73's. I also get 27mpg on the freeway. Will my mpg drop? How much? Also did my car come with an aluminum driveshaft? I was told only 3.23 cars have them. Should I get an aluminum driveshaft?

Thanks.

3:23s will help with your launch. 2:73s are great for highway runs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

if u like ur mileage, and low rpm cruising, keep ur gears and get a yank st3500 or vig 2800 converter, u'll drop 4-5 tenths off ur 1/4 mile time... just make sure whatever converter u get has at least a 2.5 str
