Introductions & Greetings - Honda Owner in the House

Hey guys... I'm currently a Honda owner (flame suit is on, so go ahead if you wish...), but I will probably be picking up an LSx powered vehicle within the next year or so after I graduate college. I've been leaning toward a Corvette lately and I think that may be my eventual route once the funds become available. I'll probably be lurking and doing a lot of reading and learning throughout the next year, but for now I just figured I'd introduce myself.

My name is Michael and I'm from Lexington, KY. I know a few of the members on here, but I usually stick to the import boards, especially those that are local.

The current car is a 98 Civic HX. Blah blah blah... slow... handles well... blah blah blah. Anyway, I look forward to an extended stay here and hope to gain a lot of knowledge in the near future.

Mods: New engine when a head gasket blew, new radiator when the old one died, new oem exhaust when the old one fell off, new harmonic balancer when the old one died, new power steering pump when the old one seized up, and the list goes on and on, too many mods to list.

Eh, mine's slow. Stock engine... 15.63... it's just a stupid little single cam.

Body kit - Negative, I have a lip kit. Nothing gaudy (sp?).
Stickers - Go under the hood
Fart Can - Negative... magnaflow oval muffler on a 2.25" mandrel exhaust with a stock-looking tip =)
Neon Lights - I'd rather slit my wrists

I don't think my car is fast. It's faster than some, slower than most. It's mainly an autocross car now. I've got some decent money in the suspension.

I'm a honda owner as well I track race my '91 civic.

Sounds like some good toys i'd be happy to talk hondas as well as LS1s.

I'd help you rehaul your suspension and save a bunch if you want alot of that stuff is overkill and or bling, not to be rude just helping :)

agreed. no one hates a honda - when they're doing what they're supposed to be doing! that is, driving to work and back while getting 40mpg, NOT zooming around with a wing taller than i am, a coffee can welded on their tail pipe and making weed-whacker noises up and down the neighborhood.

the fast and the furious and need for speed RUINED the import scene. i'm tired of seeing little white high schooler kids saying "yo dat shit is dooooope!"

Welcome to the board. Theres some much usefull information on this board it's hard to believe it's free. So take advantage, save up some money, buy a vette, and keep the Honda as a daily driver.

Damn whats with all these closet honda owners :secret2:? Everyone is finally coming out of the closet and admitting they own them.

I better add that I own one as well but it is my DD. I have not had a problem with the original engine with the 182k it had on it but I swapped in a DOHC 2.0L motor from japan just to give it a little more umph.

agreed, I own a 95 camery to go back and forth to work, but there are a couple mods it needs, haha tint on the windows and system, hey i like music.

buy the way my camery has 340,000 miles and still runs good

Another Honda owner checking in, worked at a Honda dealership for 20 yrs. own a 2005 Accord V-6 EX and 1993 Accord SE my parking lot car.

The Import folks aren't much different than LS1. Most guys here don't rip their interiors out though. A Honda is transportation and they hold their resale value. I was removed from Club Si 6 times cause they didn't like what I had to say. those were some fun years.

Hey now ive got a honda civic. Its a racing machine. :secret2: 1996 DX or something like that, its got VTEC!!!! hells yea. 185k mile of raw fury. Still runs like a champ but is currently sitting in my vacant lot holding all of my T/A parts that i need to sell/install. I should be daily driving it so i dont put 25k miles a year on the T/A but its so much more fun that the civic :drive:.

No I told, the Honda board, I had an American made original 4 cylinder auto with a full interior & street tires. I offered to race any manual or auto similar car. I said I would drive 500 miles from my Ohio home. Lost once in four years of racing. One bad reaction!

That Vette is gorgeous, good choice.
