Default Opinions about SLP's 400 horsepower package?

What do you guys think about SLP's 400 horsepower package. I wouldnt buy the package because I can find most of these parts for a lot cheaper but would all this put out 400 hp?

Thanks guy!

yea it probably would..but if you are buying LT heddars go w/ pacesetters..they fit a Hell of a lot better/closer to the body so less ground clearance issues..i know i have SLP LTs ..grr..
imade 385hp 395 tq w/ the following mods

SLP LId
SLP ram air mod
SLP LT heddars
SLP loudmouth exhaust w/ their y pip
DELETED cats and mufler--gotta love that resonator
80 mm BBK TB
CRAP A$$ LS1 intake
NGK Plugs
K&N filter
lunati cam 234/236 .050 .544/.545 110 lsa

with a tune that gave me the 385 hp 395 tq at the ground..good luck

Be aware that it's 400 flywheel HP, not wheel horsepower

My opinion: DO NOT BUY IT.

SLP is usually over priced. Unless you definately know what you are doing the only advisable mod related to the MAF is descreening it. You can probably find a cheaper lid from somebody else, and SLP LT's are known for being hard to install and having below average ground clearance. Diablo Sport handheld tuner is a waste of money, IMO (and many others) because you cannot do a full, true tune with it IIRC. 1.85 rockers require a spring change and why not simplty go with a new cam? Do you want high flow cats?

Read the stickies in the new enthusiast, internal and external engine sections and pick and choose each individual modification on it's own merit and I think you will be better off.

All your paying for is the name. You can find better parts for a cheaper price than the cost of that package.

chances are that you could probably make 400 hp (@ the flywheel) with the addition of headers (offroad y) and LS6 intake manifold

my suggestion would be to do the supporting mods first before you add heads and cam... get yourself a good set of headers and then work on getting a cam.

Yeah I will deffinately be getting a good set of headers and free flowing y. And then working on the upper end of the engine. With time and well money I will get there.

Why don't you get yourself a stall converter?? Probably one of the best bang for buck mods you can do for an A4. It won't increase your hp, but it'll make your car alot faster(I went 12.80 with just a Lid/Catback/Stall in my 98) Most people see typical drop of .5 in the 1/4mile.
