Default lid & cat back = SES?

I just installed a Hooker catback and an SLP lid with K&N filter. 200 miles later my SES light is on. Is this due to the mods or is it possible that I have a bad cat at 45,000 miles?

make sure u have everything hooked back up from ur lid install. if u JUST have a catback, that would not throw a SES light. other than that, take it back to the shop and get it checked out.

You are certain everything is hooked up again, such as the IAT? I can't see the catback throwing a code. There's only two plugs I believe to reconnect after instaling a lid. Run a scan and get the code(s). Maybe it's just a coincidence.

Don't mess with the Hooker catback IMO. It sounds better on L98 and LT1 engines. It just doesn't sound right on LS1's. again IMO, I think the best sounding catback is the Bullet catback. Buy a Bullet race muffler from Summit or Jegs for $35, take it to a local muffler shop, get ur old muffler and dual tips taken off. Have them make a custom Y after the axle and then duals aout the back. My total cost was about 200 before tips, that's including the Muffler. It sounds KILLER!!!! best exhaust sound, IMO. Then buy a TSP lid w/ a filter, more HP than anyother lid from what they claim.

After a week of driving, the light finally went out. I didn't change anything it. It went out on its own. And I LOVE the sound of my Hooker!

the day i put my lid on,i got a ses light, and now it still comes on every once in awhile. it kept turning off like an hour later. when i had i scanned it turned out to be the MAP sensor going bad. I dont know if it was bad before the lid, but it came on about an hour after the lid install.
