what kind of gears/converter for 1/8 mile
ok iam about to do some more mods to my 2002 camaro (ls1){a4}
so far i have:
pace long tubes headers
pace ory
electric cut-out
flowmaster exaust
G2 lid
160 thermostat
i think thats it anyways i want to do these next mods-
trans cooler
shift kit
torque converter
gears
my question is what kind of gears/converter should i put in with these mods, when i hit it on the highway it seems faster then it is from a dead stop are from a 20 roll,etc. i dont know what gears it has now but i think its better for 1/4 mile but i only go to 1/8 mile tracks running 8:60s- 8:70s on 1/8 mile and thats with a lot of heavy stuff in the back(sound system) about 250-350 pounds. thanks for any help
oh and its my daily driver if any one asks!

just depends on what tire you're running. i was running an ET street tire and cutting 60's in the 1.5x-1.6x's consistantly. with the converter, and good traction, and the right tune i don't see why it wouldn't drop an easy .5 off the ET.

The car with a pt4000-4400 with slicks and 3.73's should run 7.80s easy with a tune... Put a cam, pulley, TB and run 7.3's or 7.4s. These cars make it sooo easy if you go the right direction.

Id put a 4400 in it with some 4.56's. That will cross the lines in the sweet spot in the 1/8 miles on some 20's.
