ORY with cutout vs. true duals?
Would there be any HP differance between an ORY with electric cutout on the end of the Y? vs. true duels with cutouts? If there is a differance, would it be much or like 5-7hp??? Help needed! Comparing with the cutout on ORY open and cutouts on true duals open....difference???

Cutouts are pretty pointless in HP terms if you have good flowing mufflers, as there is then actually nothing to by-pass.
Y pipe vs. Duals is an old battle and it really depends on setup.
Upto about 450-500bhp (flywheel) there isn't likely to be much difference as long as each setup is well thought out. Above 500bhp and duals will outflow most Y pipe setups. So unless you are going FI or a mean large displacement motor the choice should come down to cost/style/sound.

Back pressure will always be there, its the same reason people run straight headers at the track, rather then just true duals, whihc would be the reason to put cutouts right after the headers,to simulate straight headers when i want to on the street or track without taknig apart my exhaust...
So I dont have to really worry about a an ORY with cutout until above liek 500hp, then the true duals will start to matter?

This is a setup I've wondered about before. The local cops are bored enough to pull you over for less than loud exhaust so I need something that's quieter than dumped true duals. But there are times when I want to hear that LS1 scream, so I've wondered if LT's with an ORY to a catback would work as well as True Duals as long as there's a cutout before the ORY. Any ideas?

My setup goes from Hooker Catback quiet to louder than hell in less than 3 seconds. I might have considered true duels but on NCs inspection you have to specify if you have single or duel exaust. Mines still single.

Well The cutout is located under the back passanger seat there the little cubby hole I guess you can call it is. And yes its louder than stock when its closed but its still VERY quiet.
Ok here is the only pic I have of it. You can kind of see it hanging down towards the rear tire.
