160 degree thermostat
I'm preparing to install a 160 degree thermostat. I read somewhere that you lose alot of coolant. What is the best way to completely drain the block so I can replace the coolant with distilled water, redline water wetter and a high grade of coolant(what's the best brand?) specifically for all alluminum engines. Is it really beneficial to only run distilled water or am I just wasting my time and effort. Thanks for the help.

Re: 160 degree thermostat
best way I did was fill the rad with distilled water turn it on...once the 160 opens all the water in the heads and block will come out...do this for a few...add a qt of watter wetter or royal purple....replace hose...have a nice 150degree engine. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
