Default M6 to A4 wiring questions. please help

I might be putting an a4 into a 2000 camaro m6 car. Ive searched and searched and cant find anything realy. The sticky for the swap has little info on this as well.

Im going to need to use a 99-02 harness due to the 98 being different.
is the engine and trans harness all one piece? or is it seperate so all i would need is a a4 trans harness?

What do i need to do on the interior harness to adapt to the a4 shifter so i have neutral safety switch back up lights, lock up, etc.....?

I know the computer needs to be reflashed to an a4. If for example, i get a 2002 wiring harness... can i still reflash it to a 2000 w/o any problems.

Lets make this the thread where these questions finally get answered. i keep finding post with no answers.

From my experience it's a major PITA to go M6-->A4. You'd be better off buiyng an A4 harness out of a 99+ car. There is to many wires to change around. I went from an M6 to A4 and it was a since b/c less wires. I've got an A4 if you want to do some swapping.

You kinda lost me here . thats what im talking about doing.

I might go to a TCI t-com control unit instead and then i can use the m6 harness thats on the car and i dont have to get the car reflashed and retuned. the whole t-com deal is like $650 which is what a retune and a4 harness would cost.

I dont think youll spend that much for a harness and tune. A guy local just sold a harness for $150. Throw in a flash +$50 and you are at $200.

the computer that will be getting reflashed is tuned for a 383. can you reflash it to an a4 and still keep the tune? Someone different would be tuning the car. Futral did it, but the car will be in virgina now and thats a long drive. Ide get nick williams in NC to do the retune and dyno.

Not sure, but my HPT M6 files look like you could change it to auto trans no problem.
