Default Removing Cats

I have a 98 SS And am wondering how much of a sound difference i will get if i were to remove the stock cats? If this were legal of course! I have stock manifolds, with SLP Dual/Dual exhaust and if it was legal i would have already purchased Simulators! Wink, wink! So, is it worht it to get that good, deep, and better sound? Any performance involved sincei am freeing up some of the exhaust. In the fufture i plan on a set of pacesetter Long Tubes, but for now this is all i can afford? What you think? Anyone got same setup and done this?

They say its not worth the 3 HP you gain from it. Apparently its too raspy, but maybe someone else can chime in.

It'll probably be a little louder with a small horsepower gain. I'm not sure what everyone is saying about rasp. I have the exhaust in my sig and have no rasp at any rpm.

i thought it depended on the motor and your set up as to how much hp you gain by modifing your exhaust system

Exclamation

It will be louder and better than the sound with cats as far as I am concerned.
