Question Rear seal on 4l60E?

The transmission on my g/f's car has developed a slight leak where the driveshaft slides into the tranny. From what I can tell, it needs that new seal. Does anyone have the part number for this seal? I've called to the local dealer to get the part, but the guys at the counter aren't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. I would really appreciate the part number.

Can't recall the part # off hand, it's only 5 dollars though. I had the same leak as well. I'll see if I can find it for ya.

Awesome, thanks a bunch! I would imagine it's the same seal for a T-56?

Just as an FYI: You don't have to buy every part for your car at a dealer - namebrand seals are carried by all the major parts stores for this application...

Is this a common problem? I just noticed a drop of transmission fluid on my garage floor today.

Also guys, check your transmission mount. Mines was a gonner and caused a hairline crack on the transmission tail shaft.
