I am looking at getting one of these, it is an 8 mp digital slr camera and comes with 28-70mm lens, a 70-300mm lens, wide angle lens, tripod, hardcase, and 2 1 gb cards. the price is $850. just trying to get advice from some of you photography people on that camera and if that is a good price.

Where are u buying it from??? I purchased my camera new a year ago for around 1k without all the other accesories. I say it's a good price, the lenses by themselves are around 200 dollars.

I have a Canon 20D & with it you have to multiply the focal length of a lens by 1.4 to get the digital focal length. I'm guessing that the Rebel is simular to mine. I've had a couple Canon cameras & liked them all. If your buying the memory card seperately, I'd look into getting a larger one in place of the 2 cards & also be carefull of the speed of the memory card. I was told to only use card that were equal to or faster than the SanDisk "Extreme" . Also if you plan on taking a lot of photos then it would be a good idea to get a portable HDD that you can down load them to in the field.
